Rangers' Guerrero visiting Angels for 1st time

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -Vladimir Guerrero spent the past six seasons with the Los Angeles Angels, helping them win five AL West titles.

The 35-year-old slugger went to Texas when the Angels didn't re-sign him last winter and is having quite a comeback season.

Guerrero will visit the Angels for the first time as an opposing player when Texas, which is leading the AL West, opens a three-games series Tuesday night in Anaheim.

Through 71 games, Guerrero is hitting .327 with 15 home runs and 60 RBIs. He hit .295 with 15 homers and 50 RBIs in 100 games for the Angels last year when he had two stints on the disabled list.

Guerrero also likely will be in Anaheim for next month's All-Star game. In fan voting that ends this week, he leads among designated hitters.Copyright © 2005 The Associated Press.
